After 6 years my venerable PC got a major upgrade. Leocadie helped out, of course. Now we can celebrate the New Year in true nerd fashion - with an MMORPG marathon.

Here's a quick review of the Exciting Summer Vacation Set:
The pieces are well-made and could easily combined with other outfits. Fortunately the skirt, which is deep blue denim, is also lined in white. The stretchy knit top and camisole can fit on any size DDS or DD 2.



The only downside is that the stockings don't have much stretch at the top, which leads to some slipping and bunching when the knees bend. They do look nice with open-toed shoes like the white sandals from the same release.

Holiday Dress

Neris gets a cute new outfit!
I've been experimenting with lace-up pieces since it's more fun than sewing snaps, and lacing allows for multiple bust sizes. Plus, it's pretty darn cute :3
Neris's new eyes came from Dollfie World.

Pattern and instructions for DD Sweetie Dress

Time to test your sewing skills again!
Here's the pattern and instructions for making a dress like Mirielle's. This fits nicely on Dollfie Dream II M-bust, but will need modification for larger bust sizes.

I'm currently working on a pattern for Mirielle's jacket and blouse. Since she's become more of a fantasy character, I changed up her color scheme a bit.

I had some free time this weekend to play around with the Strobist gel collection. Meg was the subject of my experimentations. Some very nice effects can be created, especially if you can manage multiple light sources.

sewing for DD: bustier dress

My next sewing project is a cute fantasy school uniform for Mirielle. The bustier skirt is fully lined and has LOTS of ruffles, quite happy to have found a solid ruffling technique.
It needs another pass to make the bust more heart-shaped and to tidy up the back, but otherwise worked out quite smoothly.

DD bell skirt and blouse pattern

Now you can sew a skirt like this or even this one!


Page 1 is for the sleeveless blouse, 2 and 3 are for the skirt. The pattern pieces include an allowance of about 1cm.
The bell skirt is very high-waisted and flares slightly from the hip. The blouse will fit M or L bust. A larger bust piece could accommodate DDy.

The bust piece should be gathered at top with elastic, and the sides gathered a bit so that when attached the front and back blouse pieces are the same length.

Use the 1 cm square as a guide when enlarging and printing the pattern.

Been waiting a long time, but she's finally here!
The weather is too crummy for painting, but I sewed her a mini version of the DD dress so at least she's no longer naked ;3

I turned some vintage corduroy into a cute skirt using the same pattern as the green dress from last update. A couple matching accessories were crafted as well :3
