Fun with Strobist gels

I had some free time this weekend to play around with the Strobist gel collection. Meg was the subject of my experimentations. Some very nice effects can be created, especially if you can manage multiple light sources.

sewing for DD: bustier dress

My next sewing project is a cute fantasy school uniform for Mirielle. The bustier skirt is fully lined and has LOTS of ruffles, quite happy to have found a solid ruffling technique.
It needs another pass to make the bust more heart-shaped and to tidy up the back, but otherwise worked out quite smoothly.

DD bell skirt and blouse pattern

Now you can sew a skirt like this or even this one!


Page 1 is for the sleeveless blouse, 2 and 3 are for the skirt. The pattern pieces include an allowance of about 1cm.
The bell skirt is very high-waisted and flares slightly from the hip. The blouse will fit M or L bust. A larger bust piece could accommodate DDy.

The bust piece should be gathered at top with elastic, and the sides gathered a bit so that when attached the front and back blouse pieces are the same length.

Use the 1 cm square as a guide when enlarging and printing the pattern.

Pipos charlotte v2 arrived

Been waiting a long time, but she's finally here!
The weather is too crummy for painting, but I sewed her a mini version of the DD dress so at least she's no longer naked ;3

Sewing for DD : Red corduroy dress

I turned some vintage corduroy into a cute skirt using the same pattern as the green dress from last update. A couple matching accessories were crafted as well :3
